Rest For A Weary Soul Daily Devotional - Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Praise the Lord and Good Evening,
It's been a week of sickness for me. Unexpected down time.....this was time I didn't want to have. I had things to do. I had plans and none of those plans included being sick all week. But God......no matter what is going on, God's got everything set up.....I'm so glad He knows what is before us.....even sickness. I'm grateful for His healing power. I know the Lord is working....even in having the flu. God is good. He blessed me to get some much needed rest.....according to my time frame though, there was no time for rest.....But God.
I was reminded that even Jesus took time out to rest. The Lord has been dealing with me on a few things and during this time of being off work, I was forced to slow down, rest and think on the Word of the Lord.....I am excited about what the Lord is doing even during this time of rest....yes, I would have preferred to rest on my own terms, but God is at work....I felt it was bad timing to be sick (like when is it a good time to have the flu)....it was pretty intense, but bless the Lord, as I'm coming out of it, I was blessed to get some rest......and I look forward to the next phase of this time of rest.....I've been busy, God blessed me with much needed rest and now I will see what the Lord is going to do next....
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. 31. And he said unto them, come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. (Mark 6:30 - 31 KJV)
