Praise the Lord and Good Evening,
I was thinking about my devotional last night and it hit me that I was thinking in terms of "Why me?" Why would hurtful things be spoken in the first place? Because we're saved and the enemy of our souls is trying to Destroy more than feelings!! Hello!! Spiritual warfare!! Words from the enemy are designed to sap your strength, joy, peace and quietness of heart......doesn't it make sense to start with words? Words are carried around when all other items must remain at home.....all the more reason to think on the right things, Godly things.
Jesus wasn't walking around moaning because there were folks talking about Him.....even satan himself came and tried to get into Jesus' thoughts....He countered it with the Word! No crying there...sure we know this, but sometimes words can be so intense that they momentarily snatch our breath away....and then the enemy tries to keep you focused on those hurtful words. Lord, help me to "Watch my Mind"....and not get caught up by the enemy's tactics....that's just one of many. We are not to be ignorant of his devices nor should those tactics keep us from doing what we are supposed to do....be more than a conquerer!
And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4) And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. (Luke 4:3-4 KJV)
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:14 KJV)

Matt 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
